I’m just a girl who never quite got over the lack of fairies in my backyard. I’d experience crushing disappointment every time I went to the ocean and did not swim with a mermaid. I could battle taxes, but unfortunately, no fire-breathing dragons. I was left with no choice but to make the magic myself!

Turns out, the more you make magic with your art, the more you see magic in the everyday. I might not be a mythical princess, but I do have a knight in shining armor. I’ve been with my darling husband, Kevin, for 10 years and I continue learning how to grow and fall in love with the same person every day (which is actual sorcery). I have one incredibly cuddly, kind and hilarious daughter with another mystery wild child on the way.

Although daily life does not typically include unicorns, what fairy tales teach us about ourselves—our wishes, desires, fears and conceptions of the world—are incredibly real.
